Inglewood

Now choosing the Best Neighborhood in Calgary must have been tough with so many trendy new restaurants and funky little shops sprinkled around the city. However, our voters narrowed it down and Calgary has spoken: Inglewood is the big winner. Inglewood was established in 1875 and is actually Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood, even though it was not given its name until 1911. Located just off both the Bow and Elbow Rivers, this neighborhood was the focal point in the early development of our city.

Today, the neighborhood is full of art, culture, lively shops and delightful eateries. Home to fashionable stores like Lauren Bagliore and Adorn as well as high-end restaurants like The Nash and Rouge, one can wander the streets and explore the stores here endlessly. With over 200 businesses in the neighborhood, Inglewood can keep you occupied for hours. In 2014, the Canadian Institute of Planners designated it as Canada’s Greatest Community. Head on down there for a beer, brunch, new bag or a bike – Inglewood truly has it all.
