Best Bakery: Sidewalk Citizen
You won’t be able to resist the wafting smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls and recently risen bread. The smell will pull you in to one of their two locations, either in Kensington or East Village where you will indulge in gourmet meals and decadent baking. You can stop in for a coffee and something sweet, or grab one of their delicious sourdough sandwiches to go. You can’t go wrong with anything on the mouth-watering menu.
The food you will find at Sidewalk is inspired by Middle Eastern street food, taking a different take on classic bakery items. When they opened the new location in East Village, they put an emphasis on quality and diversifying rather than baking more bread. And the choice has paid off; on the weekends and during the summer it’s hard to find a seat in either location.
