As tax season approaches, car insurance renews and the credit card bills never seem to stop piling up, everyone can agree that life is expensive. Whether you’re trying to save for a mortgage or you’re just trying to make ends meet, money is a stressful topic around many homes. This month, we’re bringing you a multitude of completely FREE events around the city so that you and the family can enjoy fun in the sun with absolutely no cost.
Easy Backyard Beekeeping
What: Have you heard about the mysterious Manuka honey? Or did you know that Mason bees don't actually sting? Join in an evening full of discoveries and interesting facts about propolis, pollen and more.

Free Museum Admission Night
What: Explore some of Calgary’s finest, oldest art, culture and history from around the globe at absolutely no cost! On the first Thursday of every month, the Glenbow Museum opens its doors to the public so that everyone can enjoy timeless paintings, statutes, renditions, moldings, written works and travelling exhibits.

Aggie Days 2019 | Family Days
What: The farm is coming to the big city this April! Bring your kids to Aggie Days so they can see real live farm animals and learn more about where their food comes from. This free, hands-on educational experience will also include a stock dog competition on Saturday followed by an extreme cowboy race on Sunday.

Calgary Night Market
What: With no admission fee, browse locally made goods from a variety of creators and makers gathered under one roof. With live music, games, crafts and so much more, there’s something for the whole family at this event.

City Nature Challenge 2019 YYC
What: Become a citizen scientist and help Calgary compete in this year’s City Nature Challenge by documenting every living thing within the city limits. The city will be under a complete bioblitz, competing with over 160 cities worldwide to document as much urban biodiversity as possible.

The 2019 Calgary Expo POW! Parade of Wonders
What: This event is free to participate in, but also free to watch! The parade celebrates pop culture and creativity in Calgary’s downtown, kicking off the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo. If you choose to participate, there’s only one rule: you MUST be decked out in cosplay.

When: April 26 @ 10:30am-12pm
Swingin' Sundays at the New Central Library
What: No partner or experience is required and all ages and abilities are welcome for an afternoon filled with dancing, learning and socializing! Attend a beginners swing dance lesson from 1-2pm followed by a social dance from 2-4pm.
