Best Neighbourhood: Inglewood
INGLEWOOD
A historical community originally established in 1875, Inglewood is Calgary's oldest neighbourhood and home to the city's first main street. Today it is known as an arts, culture and shopping hub with access to the river and countless pathways. Even though the downtown skyline is just across the river, Inglewood's charm and slower pace still allows it that small-town feel. Home to coffee shops, trendy stores, countless festivals and nature reserves, this neighbourhood has something for everyone.
As a community dependent on foot traffic, Inglewood was affected greatly by Calgary's shut down this spring. Since March 13th, the Inglewood community website has been providing up-to-date information and resources to help support their small businesses during these uncertain times. From tax deferrals to wage subsidies, they have done everything possible to educate their community on what's happening with government regulations and provincial updates.
You can support the community of Inglewood by visiting and supporting their countless businesses as they all reopen at their own pace. Each place of business will have their own set of rules, cleaning processes, government regulations and hours of operation, so they thank you in advance for looking up your destination ahead of time.
