Best Sushi: Kinjo

Kinjo

Serving authentic Japanese food, this restaurant started small in 2005 and has now spread to five fabulous locations around the city. If you’ve been to Kinjo, you would remember their oriental decor, stunning presentation and extremely friendly staff. You are greeted when you walk in the door by not only the hostess, but by all of the workers in the restaurant in unison. If it’s your birthday, you are serenaded until satisfied. And if you are female, you get the pleasure of choosing a Pocky flavor at the end of your meal.

Where to even start when discussing Kinjo’s menu. Whether you are in the mood for traditional sushi, sashimi, cones or noodles, they have unlimited options for all. Perhaps you start with a plate of salted edamame and miso soup, followed by a lobster cone or bean cake. If you’re feeling hungry, the Kiss Kiss dragon roll is a Kinjo classic with beautiful presentation. Finish off the night with a glass of sake or green tea ice cream to fully enjoy the Japanese experience provided by Calgary’s finest sushi restaurant.
