Best Place to Picnic: Prince's Island Park

Just off Memorial Drive and Eau Claire, this is one of the prime parks in Calgary for an actual sit down picnic. Surrounded by the Bow river, there’s three walking bridges to get onto the island on the south side, and one on the north. Prince’s Island has benches scattered throughout the park, but the best real estate is found by seeking out the sun, shade, or water. After eating there’s also plenty of room to throw a football, frisbee, or fly a kite. There’s no need to worry about getting lost in the bush at all, the Prince has you covered.
