Best Filmmaker: Matt Watterworth

Originally from Edmonton, Matt enrolled in SAIT Polytechnic’s Film & Video Production Program. During his final year in the program Matt was selected by Canada’s 7th largest production company, SEVEN24 Films, as a practicum student. His current company, Full Swings Production was born after working closely with to-be co-founder Scott Westby on their first post-SAIT film, “Tell Me a Lie.” In 2014, Matt was accepted into the prestigious National Screen Institute’s Features First program, and in 2015 he was honoured with SAIT’s Outstanding Young Alumnus award. He is known for his work on Heartland (2007), Interstellar (2014) and Northern Lights (2009). Most recently, he directed In Plainview (2017) which is currently in post-production.
