Calling all art lovers, history buffs and local design enthusiasts: the Best Museum in Calgary is hosting a Behind the Scenes tour just for you. Explore the largest art collection west of Toronto, including many little-known works rarely seen by the public.

From watercolors and print collections to woodcuts and sculptures, the Glenbow Museum’s impressive collection of works will amaze and astound you.

As if this wasn’t enough, your Behind the Scenes tour will also include a visit through the Glenbow’s archives, Canada's largest non-governmental archival repository. With extensive holdings of unpublished documents and photographs related to the history of Western Canada, your exclusive tour will lead you through five kilometres of shelf space with documents dating from the 1860s to the 1990s. Expect to see diaries, letters, minute books, photographs, scrapbooks, speeches, membership lists, films and sound recordings from over 3,000 individuals, families, clubs, businesses, schools and organizations in Calgary, southern Alberta and Western Canada. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the Glenbow the way the employees do.

The Ideas Week labs are presented in partnership with Best of Calgary and First Calgary Financial. The intention is to bring Calgarians an exclusive opportunity to connect with the best of our city through fun, interactive and unique events.
