Best Ice Cream/Gelato: Village Ice Cream

Rich and delicious, Village Ice Cream has been bringing Calgary its mouth-watering flavours since 2012. With three popular Calgary locations, these shops are regularly lined up out the door with locals craving a scoop of their favourite flavour in one of their signature freshly pressed waffle cones. With many classics like their earl grey, Phil & Sebastian coffee and Guide's mint making a valiant effort, the secret weapon at Village Ice Cream is still their oh-so-delicious salted caramel.
Shutdown was hard for Village, as their locations are a frequent gathering place for Calgarians in all seasons. While their shops were forced to close for three months this spring, the company was able to pivot and offer contactless curbside pickup with a new system that helped maintain a bit of revenue and allowed them to retain some of their incredible staff. COVID-19 has been a challenging time for the team at Village Ice Cream, but they're grateful to be back in action with in-person scoop service and they can't thank their community enough for the ongoing support through these uncharted waters.
Now that all three Calgary locations are open to the public once again, pick your favourite and go meet your friends for a scoop or two of your Village Ice Cream favourites. At this time, Village is not able to offer indoor seating, flavour sampling or cash transactions to ensure the safety of its patrons and staff, so they appreciate your understanding and their hearts go out to all who are pushing through during this time.
