Best Comedian: Andrew Phung
Andrew Phung
A Canadian actor, improviser and comedian who has won countless awards across the board, Andrew Phung is a born and raised Calgarian. He originally graduated from the University of Calgary and now splits his time between Calgary and Toronto to film perhaps his most well-known character, Kimchee, on CBC Television's Kim's Convenience. His iMDb profile goes on and on and on, noting Andrew's appearances on Save Me, Ming's Dynasty, Little Italy, The Beaverton, Let's Talk English and many more. A fixture in the local improv, acting, and comedy community, Andrew's secret to success is his energy and ability to improvise instantaneously.
Due to the current COVID-19 climate, most television show sets have been shut down and the start of many new seasons delayed. Since there aren't many live shows or improv groups happening right now, you may think that Andrew isn't busy in a time like this. However, he is an active Calgary business promoter, always sharing new ways that you can get involved and support your neighbours. He was also asked to present at this year's virtual Juno Awards, taking place on June 29th at 7 p.m.
You can support Andrew Phung at this time by choosing to support your fellow neighbours and small businesses right here in Calgary. Constantly updated with new Calgary hotspots, check out Andrew's twitter feed for recommendations on places to eat, shop and hang out.
