Best Photographer: Neil Zeller
Neil Zeller describes himself as a ‘proud Calgarian’ and is one of the city’s most acclaimed contemporary photographers, winning the Best Photographer award yet again. Zeller’s work is regularly featured in media articles capturing the night skies, including most notably images of a Chinese rocket burning up one Calgary night in 2015 as well as photographs of auroras in the Yukon taken from an airplane earlier this year.
As a professional photographer in Calgary, Zeller’s work has also ventured into the commercial world of capturing companies, food, restaurants, events, public relations, marketing, corporate fundraisers and concerts. Zeller continues to build up his impressive portfolio as one of Calgary’s best-known photographers and has had his work featured alongside some of the city’s biggest brands. He has provided his exceptional skills for local Calgary businesses like Village Brewery, Beakerhead, Catalys Speed Skating Association, ATB Agriculture and MAC Marketing Solution. He also continues to pursue his own passions in photographing night skies and colourful auroras. Even Mayor Nenshi has nothing but praise to describe him: “Neil does a great job of capturing our amazing city and the people in it. It was a pleasure to work with him.” See Neil’s most recent work updated on his Instagram page.
