You can’t call yourself a true Calgarian until you’ve tried a Boogie’s Burgers creation. With two locations in Calgary, going to Boogie’s is an experience in itself. With the original location found in Renfrew, the orange walls are adorn with old pictures, painted face masks, money from all over the world and random findings. With antique arcade games and retro stools and tables, it’s like being transported back in time to 1969 when the joint first opened. Now you’ll find a second location in Marda Loop serving up Calgary’s Best Burgers for another year running to a wider audience.

Come for the décor but stay for the food. Enjoy your fill of Cajun fries, specialty milkshakes and loaded burgers each time you visit. Best to go with a buddy or two, because these meals aren’t for the faint of heart. Try classic milkshake flavours or Boogie’s original combinations like peanut butter and jam or maple bacon. One burger is called ‘Doug’s Don’t Fear the Reaper Burger,’ including a stack of four beef patties, four slices of bacon, a hot dog, two slices of cheddar, a fried egg, red sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and a mini corn dog. If you’re looking for something a little more manageable but still wildly creative, check out Boogie’s trendy website.
