Inglewood

Did you know that Inglewood is actually Calgary’s oldest neighborhood? It was established in 1875, even though it was not given its name until 1911, and it’s been a hotspot ever since. Today, the neighborhood is full of art, culture, lively shops and delightful eateries. Home to fashionable stores like Lauren Bagliore and Adorn as well as high-end restaurants like The Nash and Rouge, one can wander the streets and explore the stores here endlessly.

With over 200 businesses in the neighborhood, Inglewood might have just about anything and everything you need. Plants, food, furniture or beer, you name it, this neighborhood has got it. And just because this neighborhood is old does not mean that it isn’t still appreciated today. In 2014, the Canadian Institute of Planners designated it as Canada’s Greatest Community. Whether you spend the afternoon digging through the vinyl at Recordland or getting the royal personal shopping experience at espy, it’s easy to understand how this historical strip has experienced a bit of a renaissance in recent years and has become the mecca of Calgary’s shop local movement. Make sure to stop by and see what all the hype is about.
