Best Art Gallery: Glenbow Museum
Glenbow Museum
The Glenbow Museum has been a cornerstone in Calgary’s artistic community for over 50 years, bringing us artwork from across the years and around the globe. The work shown at this museum reminds us of the legacy left behind by past artists and the potential of current young creators around us. Their collection accurately represents Western Canadian culture, past and present, through the work of unique artistic expression.
Classics, impressionists, sculptures, photographers – the best thing about the Glenbow Museum is that it has something for everyone. With a mixture of permanent and travelling collections, this museum never fails to entertain and enthuse even the most seasoned art lover. Starting this spring, the Glenbow has numerous notable collections that are must-see’s: Frida Khalo, John Will, The Black Gold Tapestry, Eye of the Needle, the Artist’s Mirror and Power in Pictures. And, if you head down here on the first Thursday of every month, admission is free!
