Best Historical Building: Lougheed House
Lougheed House
Step back in time at Lougheed House, a National Historic Site of Canada located in the Beltline. Built in 1891 as a luxurious home for Senator Lougheed’s family, it was a hub of Calgary’s social scene. Lady Isabella‘s parties were worthy of the society pages in the newspapers. Nowadays, things are much quieter at Lougheed House. Bring along a picnic lunch and a jug of local kombucha to enjoy in Beaulieu Gardens, the landscaped grounds that surround the sandstone mansion. As a bonus, you will enjoy a luxury the Lougheeds never got to experience: free wifi.
