Best Patio: National on 8th
It’s almost that time of year again when you can trade your winter jacket in for a t-shirt and beer out on the patio. Calgary has a well-established list of killer patios, but none of them compare to the rooftop patio at National’s downtown location on 8th Ave. Whether you are stopping in for lunch during the week, playing a couple rounds of ping-pong during happy hour or staying for the night, National’s patio is ready for you.
There are plenty of tables up there for both big and small groups, as well as standing tables for those who don’t want to commit. You can order from the patio version of the menu, like their classic fish and chips or deep fried pickles. They have heat lamps set up around the patio just in case in a chilly night in YYC (it usually is).
